The Working Class Artist Network are a group of working class artists fighting against underrepresentation in the
arts. Working across multiple disciplines and spanning from London to Liverpool, WANK aim to question what it
means to be a working class artist in a privileged art world. The collective will use LUVA Gallery to bring
together a selection of new and recent works, reflecting on the gallery’s position within the council estate and
the ideas of commodity, class and consumerism.
The members of WANK exhibiting are:
Ella Fitzgerald, Laura Hessey, James Knights, Beth Mellett, Adam Neal, Shonagh Short, Josie Simpson and
Georgina Tyson.
